Merchant Direct - Introduction

This article provides instructions on logging in to Moneris Portal and Merchant Direct, as well as some general introductory information about the dashboard.

Overview

Moneris® Merchant Direct is an evolution of the original Merchant Direct reporting and administration portal. It is available 24/7 and features a slick new interface, with simplified, yet powerful new reporting tools to make it easier to get access to the data that matters to you, and improved self-serve features.

What is Moneris Portal?

The Moneris Portal is intended to be a single location from which to access all your Moneris digital products, including Merchant Direct and Go portal. As we continue to build the solution, more digital products will be added to the Moneris Portal.

The good news is that you won’t need to learn new ways of doing things or how to use new functionality. This release is simply about changing the look and feel of the logon experience and main menu, without impacting the other functionality of Merchant Direct.

How does Moneris Portal impact Merchant Direct?

Previously, merchants were able to access Merchant Direct by going to the Moneris home page and clicking Login, or through the login.moneris.com URL.

With the release of Moneris Portal, Moneris is looking to streamline portal access and have a single point of sign on for all of your Moneris portals, including Go Portal, Merchant Direct, and Moneris Insights. The process to sign in to Merchant Direct is now different, and will be explained in this section of the article.

You can log into the Moneris Portal using the credentials you created as part of your set up journey.

If you don't have an account, refer to Create a Moneris Portal account from the log in page.
Supported browsers: Make sure you are using the latest version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, or Mozilla Firefox.

Follow these steps to log in to Moneris Portal.

After verifying your identity, the Moneris Portal displays a tile for each portal for which you are registered, for example, Merchant Direct and Go Portal. Click Launch to access each portal. If the tile displays the Activate button (shown below for Go Portal) instead of the Launch button, click Activate to register for that portal. Refer to Activate access to Merchant Direct or Go Portal (or other resources).

How do I create a Moneris Portal account from the Log in page?

If you don't have an account for the Moneris Portal, you can create one at the log in page.

How do I activate Merchant Direct in the Moneris Portal?

After logging into the Moneris Portal, you may see tiles for Merchant Direct or Go portal (or another digital resource) with the Activate button. You can use these tiles to register yourself for each portal.

Note: If you are already registered, you will see the Launch button.

How do I log in to Merchant Direct from within the Moneris Portal?

Access Merchant Direct through the Moneris Portal. Follow the instructions below to login to Merchant Direct.

Log in to Moneris Portal. Follow the instructions in the How do I login to the Moneris Portal? section in this article.
On the portal's home page, in the Merchant Direct tile, click the Launch button. The Dashboard appears.

How do I log out of Merchant Direct?

Logout of Merchant Direct

In the top right corner of the screen, click on your user name.
On the popup menu, click Logout.

After you log out, you are returned to the Moneris Portal logon screen. From there you can log back in.

Note: This action does not log you out; it leaves you logged in but closes Merchant Direct.

In the top right corner of the screen, click on your user name.
On the popup menu, click Moneris Portal. The system returns you to the Portal, where you can select a different application to launch.

How do I log out of Moneris Portal?

Follow the instructions below to log out of the Moneris Portal.

On the Moneris Portal main screen, click/tap your user name in the top right corner of the screen.
On the popup menu, click Logout. The main portal logon screen appears.

View the Dashboard

The dashboard is featured on the main landing page of Merchant Direct once you have signed in. It is divided into four sections:

Yesterday's Insights - This section displays a summary of purchases and refunds conducted yesterday, including a net dollar amount, number of transactions performed, and the average ticket amount.
Daily Net Sales - This section displays daily net sales data at a glance, starting from the previous day back 30 days. For example, if you login December 1, you would see net sales for the previous 30 days of November. For merchants with multiple accounts, the totals shown are a sum total of all accounts.
Your Account - This section has links to update your profile and your password, and displays the last time you logged in to Merchant Direct. It also displays the expiry date on your current password.
Announcements - This section is dynamic, and displays relevant announcements by Moneris.

	At the Moneris Portal log in page, click Create an account.
	On the account creation panel: Enter your email address. Confirm your email address by entering it again. Enter your 13-digit merchant number. You can find it in your welcome email from Moneris or in your statements. Click Next.
	On this panel: Enter your first name. Enter your last name. Select English or French. Click Create.
	When prompted to create a password: Enter the new password. Make sure it meets the requirements shown on screen. Confirm the new password by entering it again. Click Submit.
	On the security questions panel: Select a question that only you can answer. Enter a short answer. After answering 3 questions, click Submit.
	When the portal indicates your account has been created successfully, click Log in.
	At the Log In page: Enter the email address you used to create your account. Enter your new password. Click Log in. Return to Log into Moneris Portal and follow the steps to log in.

	Open your Internet browser and go to https://login.moneris.com/en/login. Enter your email address and password, then click Log in.
	After you log in successfully, the Moneris Portal sends a verification code to the email address you used to log in. Here is an example of the email you will receive. Open the email message and make note of the verification code. If you don’t see the message in your in-box, check your junk folder. If the code expires, refer to the next step. You can send a new code.
	The portal displays the verification code screen. Enter the verification code from the email message. If you did not receive a code or the code expired, click Send new code. To bypass having to enter a code each time you log in for the next 30 days, click the checkbox next to "Remember my device" before clicking Verify code. NOTE: The “Remember my device” feature works only when using the same computer and the same browser. This feature should only be used if you are working with a trusted computer. Do not select "Remember my device" on a shared computer. Click Verify code.

	If the Activate button appears on the Merchant Direct tile, click Activate to register yourself for the Merchant Direct portal.
	Enter your 13-digit merchant number. You can find it in your welcome email from Moneris or in your statements.
	When the "Success" message appears, click Return to Moneris Portal to launch Merchant Direct. If the portal indicates "You are currently not allowed to create an account," contact your account representative or call Customer Care at 1-866-319-7450.
