How to change your password, what to do if you forget your password, how to change your account information, security questions, and method of 2-factor authentication.
Navigate to User Settings
Navigate to User Settings
From the main page of the Moneris Portal, click the dropdown arrow located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen next to your name, then click Settings.
The User Settings page appears.
Change your password
Follow these steps to change your password for the Moneris Portal.
Note: You cannot reuse any of your last four (4) passwords.
When the Update Password window appears:
Enter your current password.
Enter the new password.
Enter the new password again in the Confirm password field.
Click Submit. Your password has now been updated.
Change your security questions or answers
Follow these steps to change your security questions or answers for the Moneris Portal. If you click "Forgot your password?" on the Log in page, you can use the security questions and answers to reset your password.
Three security questions appear. For each security question
click the dropdown menu to choose a question;
enter the answer. Note that the answer is not case sensitive. It can contain letters, numbers, and special characters including spaces.
each answer must contain a minimum of three characters
Note: You must complete all questions within ten minutes or repeat the process. The three questions and answers you choose this time will replace your previous three questions and answers. For security reasons, the portal does not indicate which questions you have selected in the past.
When finished, click Submit.
The "Success" message appears confirming that your security questions were accepted and saved.
Click Go Back to return to User Settings.
Update two-factor authentication to a more secure method
Two-factor authentication (2FA) uses two methods to verify your identity. The first method is your password. The second method uses your email address, by default, to send you a verification code. However, there are other methods of 2FA that are more secure:
Text messaging. The portal sends a verification code to your mobile phone. You enter the verification code when signing into the portal. To update your 2FA to text messaging, refer to the steps below.
An authenticator app. You install an authenticator app on your smartphone. The portal communicates with the app which will prompt you to confirm that you are signing into the portal. To update your 2FA to an authenticator app, click Set up an authenticator app.
On the Security tab, scroll down to Two-factor authentication.
Under Text message (SMS), click Set-up.
When the Mobile Two Factor Authentication Set-up window appears, enter your mobile phone number including the area code, then click Update. Moneris sends a verification code by text message to your mobile phone.
In the portal, enter the verification code you received by text message, then click Verify Code. Your Moneris Portal account is now set up for two-factor authentication using SMS text messaging.
Set up an authenticator app
Follow these steps to set up an authenticator app as your preferred method of two-factor authentication.
Install an authenticator app on your smartphone. If needed, refer to instructions that came with your smartphone on how to find and install apps. Some better-known authenticator apps include:
Microsoft Authenticator
Google Authenticator
LastPass Authenticator Note: If you already have an authenticator app installed, an additional one is not required.
On the Security tab, scroll down to Two-factor authentication.
Under Setup Authenticator App, click Set-up.
The portal displays a QR code. Use the camera on your smartphone to scan the QR code. This will direct you to the authenticator app you installed. Your authenticator app will provide you with a verification code.
In the portal, scroll down to view “Step 3 - Verify”.
Enter the verification code and click Verify Code. Your Moneris Portal account is now set up for two-factor authentication using your authenticator app.
Update your user account information
Follow these steps to change your first name, last name, or phone number in the Moneris Portal.
Note: You cannot change your email address currently but this function will be available in the near future.
On the User Settings page, click the User Account tab if needed.
Next to User profile, click Edit.
When the User profile window appears, you can change your first name, last name, or contact phone number.
When finished, click Update. Your user account information is now updated.
Reset your password if you forgot it
If you forget your password for the Moneris Portal, you can set a new password by following these steps.
On the Moneris Portal log in page, click Forgot your password?
Enter the email address you normally use to sign into the Moneris Portal, then click Submit.
Moneris sends you an email message with a link to reset your password. If you don’t see the message, check your junk mail folder.
In the email message, click the Reset password button.
If prompted, enter the answer to the security question and click Submit. This security question was set up when you registered for Moneris Portal.
Think of a new password. It must include:
10 or more characters
Uppercase and lowercase characters
At least one number
Note: You cannot reuse any of your last four (4) passwords.
When the Update Password window appears:
Enter the new password.
Enter the new password again in the Confirm password field.
Click Submit.
When the success message appears, your password has been reset.
