What is a Consolidation Fee?
- A Consolidation Fee is a fee charged to allow you to pay for most Moneris fees in one single debit.
What is a Handling Fee?
- A handling fee is a fee charged to cover the cost of manually processing a transaction on your behalf.
What is a Multiple Items Affected Fee?
- A Multiple Items Affected Fee is charged when Moneris receives rejected fees from your bank accounts for various reasons and then there is a system action that attempts to re-debit the bank account the following business day.
What is a POS Upgrade Fee?
- A POS Upgrade Fee is a fee charged when you upgrade your Point of Sale (POS).
What is a Setup Fee?
- A Setup Fee is a fee charged when you add a product or feature to your account.
What is a Account Service Fee?
- An Account Service Fee is a fee charged that covers but not limited to the following:
- The flexibility to deposit all funds to a single account of their choice
- 24-hour access to the Customer Service Manager for all POS and Customer account inquiries
- Exceptional technical service and delivery and installation of replacement terminals
- Access to our reporting tool Merchant Direct
What is Account Service Package Fee?
- An Account Service Package Fee is a fee charged for an amalgamation of three fees:
- Account Service Fee
- PCI Fee
- Paper Statement Fee
What is a Terminal Rental Fee?
- A Terminal Rental Fee is a fee charged for the rental of a Point of Sale (POS) Device.
What is a Manual Imprinter Fee?
- A Manual Imprinter fee is a fee that is charged annually when you've rent a manual (also known as a flatbed) imprinter.
What is a PCI Fee?
- A PCI Security Fee is a fee that is charged for ongoing investments in security and infrastructure to provide you with a more secure platform to process cardholder data and protect against any cardholder data breaches.
What is a Paper Statement Fee?
- A Paper Statement Fee is a fee charged of $2.00, increasing to $4.00 on September 1, 2025, per month (no discretion) to Customers receiving paper-based statements through mail.
- Moneris is committed to reducing our environmental footprint. Since November 1, 2012.
- This fee recovers costs for statement printing and mailing and to encourage Customers to reduce their environmental impact by viewing up-to-date reports for free on the Merchant Direct.
- This is similar to the bag tax - The bag tax was created to decrease the amount of bags that are in our environment. Therefore, by charging a fee, Consumers are encouraged to use fewer bags and to bring in their own reusable bags.
What is an Aged Batch Close Fee?
- An Aged Close Batch Fee is a fee charged for batches closed after 4 calendar days. Example: Batch opens on a Monday and closes on:
- Monday (day 1) - no fee
- Tuesday (day 2) - no fee
- Wednesday (day 3) - no fee
- Thursday (day 4) - no fee
- Friday (day 5) - billed Aged Batch Fee
