Overview

A breakdown of the fees associated with your Moneris Account.

Account Fees

What is a Consolidation Fee?

  • A Consolidation Fee is a fee charged to allow you to pay for most Moneris fees in one single debit.

What is a Handling Fee?

  • A handling fee is a fee charged to cover the cost of manually processing a transaction on your behalf.

What is a Multiple Items Affected Fee?

  • A Multiple Items Affected Fee is charged when Moneris receives rejected fees from your bank accounts for various reasons and then there is a system action that attempts to re-debit the bank account the following business day.

What is a POS Upgrade Fee?

  • A POS Upgrade Fee is a fee charged when you upgrade your Point of Sale (POS).

What is a Setup Fee?

  • A Setup Fee is a fee charged when you add a product or feature to your account.

What is a Account Service Fee?

  • An Account Service Fee is a fee charged that covers but not limited to the following:
    • The flexibility to deposit all funds to a single account of their choice
    • 24-hour access to the Customer Service Manager for all POS and Customer account inquiries
    • Exceptional technical service and delivery and installation of replacement terminals
    • Access to our reporting tool Merchant Direct

What is Account Service Package Fee?

  • An Account Service Package Fee is a fee charged for an amalgamation of three fees:
    • Account Service Fee
    • PCI Fee
    • Paper Statement Fee

What is a Terminal Rental Fee?

  • A Terminal Rental Fee is a fee charged for the rental of a Point of Sale (POS) Device.

What is a Manual Imprinter Fee?

  • A Manual Imprinter fee is a fee that is charged annually when you've rent a manual (also known as a flatbed) imprinter.

What is a PCI Fee?

  • A PCI Security Fee is a fee that is charged for ongoing investments in security and infrastructure to provide you with a more secure platform to process cardholder data and protect against any cardholder data breaches.

What is a Paper Statement Fee?

  • A Paper Statement Fee is a fee charged of $2.00, increasing to $4.00 on September 1, 2025, per month (no discretion) to Customers receiving paper-based statements through mail.
    • Moneris is committed to reducing our environmental footprint. Since November 1, 2012.
    • This fee recovers costs for statement printing and mailing and to encourage Customers to reduce their environmental impact by viewing up-to-date reports for free on the Merchant Direct.
    • This is similar to the bag tax - The bag tax was created to decrease the amount of bags that are in our environment. Therefore, by charging a fee, Consumers are encouraged to use fewer bags and to bring in their own reusable bags.

What is an Aged Batch Close Fee?

  • An Aged Close Batch Fee is a fee charged for batches closed after 4 calendar days. Example: Batch opens on a Monday and closes on:
    • Monday (day 1) - no fee
    • Tuesday (day 2) - no fee
    • Wednesday (day 3) - no fee
    • Thursday (day 4) - no fee
    • Friday (day 5) - billed Aged Batch Fee
