Shopify Integration
I have a Payment integration with Moneris already. Why do I need to add it again?
Shopify is updating its payment processing functionality, and the old payment integration will be retired. To avoid service disruptions, you must activate the new payment integration as soon as possible and prior to June 5, 2025.
What is changing for me?
You will have access to a fully integrated solution with Shopify, as well as access to Shopify's most recent platform. If you don't update, your shoppers will not be able to purchase items online after June 5, 2025.
Who can activate the new Moneris payment integration?
The Store owner who has access to Shopify Admin is the only person who can make changes to your Shopify account.
How do I update to the new Moneris payment app integration?
First make sure you have your Moneris API token and Store ID. Your Store ID was emailed to you when you were onboarded with Moneris, in your welcome email. If you cannot locate that email and did not receive it as part of the recent payment integration campaign, call us at 1-866-319-7450. You can find your case-sensitive API token by logging into the Merchant Resource Centre with your existing credentials, then follow these instructions.
When you’re ready, use the steps below to activate a new integration with Moneris to process payments.
From the email sent by Moneris
- Click on the link.
- Sign on to your Shopify Portal using your existing credentials.
- Click Connect to link your Moneris payment account.
- Click Install app to initiate the payment connection
- Enter your API Token and Store ID.
- Click Connect.
- Click Activate Moneris to complete the activation of the new payment app. The old integration is automatically deactivated.
Navigating from Shopify Portal
- Sign on to your Shopify Portal using your existing credentials.
- Click on Settings > Payments.
- Click on Payment providers link.
- Select the option for third-party payment providers.
- Select Moneris from the drop-down menu.
- Click Connect to link your Moneris payment account.
- Click Install app to initiate the payment connection.
- Enter your API Token and Store ID.
- Click Connect.
- Click Activate Moneris to complete the activation of the new payment app. The old integration is automatically deactivated.
When will this change come into effect?
The old payment integration via Shopify will be decommissioned on June 5, 2025. After this date, the old gateway will not function.
Will I still be able to process refunds for transactions made prior to deactivating the old integration?
Yes. Refunds and chargebacks will still be processed for another six months, for transactions made prior to deactivating the old integration.
I have connected to the Moneris Payment App integration, but my transactions are failing.
You may not have completed all the activation steps. Click on the direct install link provided to you by Moneris and follow the steps to activate. Remember to click on “Activate Moneris” after entering your API Token and Store ID. If successful, you will see “Moneris Activated” message.
Can I connect to a different payment provider?
Yes, but you must contact Moneris to cancel your Moneris Gateway Account.
What happens to all my content that’s with Shopify?
There is no impact to your content.
