    Setting up your Go Retail store 

    Sign into the Moneris Portal to access Go Portal and Go Retail.
    Get familiar with the main menu and the user account menu. 
    Create user accounts for your employees
    Create categories for your products
    Set up sales taxes
    Add products to your store
    Set up your hardware and software, including your Moneris terminal

     

    Next steps

    Once your store is ready, you can process transactions:

    • using the web application together with the Go terminal in cloud integrated mode or
    • using the Go Retail app independently on the Go Plus terminal without your computer, anywhere your business takes you. 

     

    Accessing the Go Retail web application

    Sign into Moneris Portal to access Go portal and Go Retail

    Moneris Go Retail is embedded in the Moneris Go portal. You can access the Moneris Go Portal through the new Moneris Portal, a single point of entry for accessing multiple Moneris digital products. 

    Follow these steps to sign into the Moneris Portal.

    1. Access the Moneris Portal at https://login.moneris.com/en/login 
    2. Enter your email address and password for the Moneris Portal.
      • If you have already set up your credentials for the Moneris Portal, skip to step 4.
      • If you have not set up your credentials yet for the Moneris Portal, go to step 3.
    3. If you don't have an account, click Create an account to sign up for the Moneris Portal.  If you are not permitted to access the Moneris Portal, you can access the Moneris Go portal directly using these steps:
      • Go to moneris.com
      • click Login at the top of the page.
      • Under Go portal, click Launch portal.
      • Sign in using your Go portal credentials. 
    1. After logging in to the Moneris Portal, you will see the digital products to which you have access.  On the tile for the Go Portal, click Launch.

     

    Add your store to the Moneris Go portal

    If you are the administrator, follow these steps to add the store associated with Moneris Go Retail.

    1. When you sign in, the Stores page appears. On the Stores page, click Add store.
    1. Enter the information required, as provided by Moneris.
      • Store ID. Enter the store ID associated with your Go Retail store.
      • Merchant ID. Enter your 13-digit merchant ID.
    2. Click Submit.
    3. When prompted, accept the terms and conditions.
    4. Return to the Overview section in the Getting started article to review the steps to set up your store.

     

    End your session

    When you are finished using Go Retail web app, follow these steps to exit the application. 

    1. Click on your user account icon. It is located next to your name at the top right of the page.
    2. Click Return to Moneris Portal. Once you return to the Moneris Portal, you can logout or access another Moneris resource.

     

    Help for the Go Portal and the Moneris Portal

    Moneris Go Retail is an application within the Moneris Go portal. Visit the Go portal support page here.

    Set up guide

    Set up guide

    Follow the Moneris Go Retail Set up guide to get your store up and running quickly. It will guide you through 3 tasks: 

    • Set up your tax collection information
    • Add products to your inventory
    • Set up your payment terminal
    1. The Set up guide appears on the dashboard when you open your store.
      1. Click View to expand the guide.
      2. Complete each task in the guide by following the instructions below.
    1. Under "Collect taxes," click Go. 
    2. Follow the steps on screen. For help with tax settings, refer to Tax settings.
    1. When the "Task Complete" message appears, choose Stay here or Yes, return to the setup guide.
      • If you select Stay here, you can resume the Set up guide by going to the dashboard.
      • If you select Yes, return, the set up guide reappears showing the first task as Done. 
    1. Under "Build your inventory," click Go. 
    2. Follow the steps on screen. For help with adding products, refer to Managing Products and choose Add a product with variants, Add a product without variants, or Add multiple products (bulk import). 
    3. When the "Task Complete" message appears, choose Stay here or Yes, return to the setup guide.
      • If you select Stay here, you can resume the set up guide by going to the dashboard.
      • If you select Yes, return, the set up guide reappears showing the task as Done. 
    1. Under "Set up your payment terminal," click the terminal you are using: Moneris Go Plus (proceed to step 9) or Moneris Go (proceed to step 10). 
    1. If you have the Moneris Go Plus terminal, choose one of the following options: 
      • To place your terminal into integrated mode and use it with the Go Retail web application, watch the video for option 1 (Integrate your terminal with Go Retai).
      • To use the Go Retail app designed for the Go Plus terminal, watch the video for option 2 (Install Go Retail app). The Go Retail app for Go Plus can be used independently from the web application. 
    1. If you have the Moneris Go terminal, you must integrate your terminal with the Go Retail web application to allow your customers to respond to various prompts and to enter their payment cards on the terminal. Click Watch to watch the instructional video. 
    1. A notification panel appears when you have completed all 3 tasks in the set up guide. 
      • To keep the Set up guide on your dashboard for reference, click Keep it
      • To permanently remove the Set up guide, click Remove. This action cannot be reversed.
    2. Need more help? Refer to the Moneris Help Centre for complete instructions on setting up and using your Go Retail solution, including videos on many common tasks. 

     

    Returning to the Set up guide after completing a task

    If you lose track of the Set up guide, you can return to it at any time by clicking on Dashboard on the main menu. This assumes you have not removed the guide.

     

    Removing the Set up guide

    You can set up your store without using the Set up guide. Refer to the Moneris Help Centre for complete instructions on setting up and using your Go Retail solution, including videos on many common tasks. 

    If you are sure you want to remove the guide, click Remove guide. 

    If you remove the set up guide, you cannot bring it back.

     

    Main menu (web application)

    Main menu (web application)

    The main menu includes all the functions you will need to manage your store. Use the scroll bar to move up or down to access the menu item you need. 

    Menu item Function
    Dashboard The dashboard shows a summary of your sales by transaction, by card brand, and by payment type. You can filter by time period.
    Reports Access Reports for transactions, total sales, and inventory count. You can change the time period, search all orders, and filter orders in different ways.
    Inventory Access the Inventory pageto manage products and manage categories.
    Orders Access the Orders page to manage orders. 
    Promotions Access the Promotions page to create and manage promotions. 
    Customers Access the Customers page to create and manage customers. You can add a specific customer to a purchase in order to track their sales history.
    Users Access this page to create user roles and user accounts for your employees. 
    Settings Access the settings for your store including tax settings. 
    Payment

    The Payment panel is a virtual terminal that allows you to process transactions using manual card entry. Transactions processed on the virtual terminal will not be reflected in your Go Retail inventory. For example, if you perform a purchase on the virtual terminal, the purchased product will not be deducted from your inventory, nor will the taxes be calculated. Similarly, a refund transaction on the virtual terminal will not return the product back to inventory or calculate appropriate taxes.

    For help with the virtual terminal, refer to the Moneris Go portal support page. 

    Point of sale Click Point of sale when a customer is ready to make a purchase. You can select items from your store and process payment.

     

    Dashboard

    Dashboard - Store peformance

    The dashboard is the first item on the main menu. It provides a quick summary of your store performance and your transaction data.

     

    Store performance

    Under store performance you will find:

    • The date or date range
    • A sales summary showing Gross sales (sales before any deductions, not including taxes) and net sales (sales minus discounts, refunds, returns)
    • A link to the detailed Sales report located on the Reports page
    • A chart of store performance, by hour.

     

    Select a date range

    You can choose the date range of the data presented on the dashboard. There are many preset options: today, yesterday, this week, last week, this month, last month, this quarter, and last quarter. You can also select a custom date range using the date picker.

    1. Click on the date range button to view the options.
    2. Select one of the preset date ranges such as This week or This month. Or click Custom range and go to the next step.
    1. When the date range picker appears, choose one or more of these options, as needed:
      • Click the month to select a different month from the dropdown list.
      • Click the year to select a different year.
    2. After selecting the month and year, click the first date and the last date in your custom date range. The dates in between are automatically selected.
    3. Choose one of these options:
      • To apply the custom date range, click Apply .
      • To return to the list of preset date ranges, click Back.
      • To exit from the date picker without making any changes, click anywhere outside the date picker.
    4. If you selected a preset or custom date range, the data on the dashboard changes immediately the reflect the new date range.

     

    Transactions data

    Click Transactions and select a date range. For the date range selected, the dashboard shows dollar values for transactions like sales (purchases) and returns. Those values are also presented as a graph. Hover your mouse on any data point on the graph to see a summary for that day.

     

    Approval by payment type

    This chart shows the number of approved and declined transactions by payment type (cash, debit card, and credit card brands). Hover your mouse over any column to see a summary.

    This pie chart shows your transactions by payment type: cash, debit card, and specific credit card brand. Hover your mouse any section of the pie chart to see a summary.

     

    User account menu

    User account menu

    To access the user account menu, click on the user account icon, next to your name at the top right of the page.

    1. Click on the user account icon.
    2. Select a menu item as required.
      • My stores. If you have more than one store, click My Stores to switch from one store to another.
      • My account. Use this menu item to change user account details, including name, language, and password, depending on your level of access.
      • Français. Use this menu item to change the interface to French.
      • Feedback. Use this menu item to provide feedback on the application.
      • Return to Moneris Portal. Use this menu item to exit the application and return to the Moneris Portal.
